Daniel Island resident Ron Silverman cast a wide net when he set out to launch the Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club (DIIFC) some 20 years ago. His efforts, and those of many other members in the organization, have clearly reeled in a great success story.

Catching Fish in Cold Weather Conditions
Thankfully, the Lowcountry has returned to more “normal” winter weather. In warmer conditions, fishing is easier (and more comfortable). Right now, the inshore bite is very good. Redfish and trout are hungry and in large schools. In a few hours of fishing, it is not unusual to catch and release 20 to 30 fish. However, I expect we will have a few more cold spells before spring gets here and fishing will once again become more challenging. When fishing is tough, finesse fishing techniques will catch fish when nothing else is working. If you are struggling to catch fish in cold weather conditions, perhaps I can help.

Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club Casts A Statue To Honor Greg Peralta
Captain Greg Peralta arrived at the Ralston Creek Boat Landing on December 13. Waiting for him was a large group of his friends, loved ones, and a new addition to the popular fishing spot. Unknowingly, the longtime Daniel Island resident and Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club (DIIFC) member had been lured into the unveiling of a monument in his name, a statue of small stature and a big sentiment.

Daniel Island Kids Fishing Tournament To Return For 8th Year
Eight years ago, a young mother asked Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club member Fred Danziger why no events that encourage children to fish existed on the island. Realizing that she was correct, he decided to propose an idea for a kids fishing tournament to the club.

Daniel Island Inshore Fishing Club Donates Fishing Statue To The Community
The Daniel Inshore Fishing Club officially donated a fishing statue to the Daniel Island Property Owners Association on Friday, August 19, at a ceremony held on Seven Farms Drive at the pond near the tennis stadium.
